Town traffic, the N28, and rural bends to Crosshaven
The Owenabue bridge junction is the busiest point in Carrigaline. Traffic from three directions converges at a narrow bridge. Turning right across oncoming traffic during rush hour tests your timing and patience. You will practise this junction until you can read the gaps.
North of town, the Shannonpark roundabout feeds traffic onto the N28 towards Cork. Port trucks from Ringaskiddy merge with Carrigaline commuters in two tight lanes. Pick the wrong lane and you end up heading for the ferry terminal instead of the South Ring Road.
South of town, the R612 to Crosshaven twists through blind crests and narrow bends. Oncoming traffic appears over the crest without warning. These roads build the rural driving skills the EDT demands.

Main road north from Carrigaline through Ballygarvan towards Douglas and Cork. Busy during commute hours with a mix of local and through traffic.
R612 (Crosshaven Road)
Connects Carrigaline south to Crosshaven. Winding with blind crests outside the town. Slower traffic on summer weekends heading to the beaches.

Runs through the town centre past shops and the Owenabue bridge. On-street parking, pedestrian crossings, and a busy junction at the bridge make this a constant lesson in observation.
Shannonpark Roundabout
